Film Photography 101 Meetup - North Side, Pittsburgh - 11am - 2 hours
In this meetup, you will learn how to load your film camera and take a properly exposed frame. Here you will understand the importance of selecting the appropriate film stock for color profiles and lighting needs. Additionally, you will obtain a basic understanding of how to expose film without the aid of digital imaging tools. We will traverse the historic Mexican war streets of the north side and capture its vintage aesthetic onto film grain. SLR cameras are highly encouraged, but a point and shoot, rangefinder, or medium format camera will do.

Night & Neon Photography Meetup - Strip District, Pittsburgh - 8pm - 2 hours
In this meetup, you will learn how to capture images at night. The key takeaways in this photo journey is to experiment with long exposures and its relationship to aperture. The by day is littered with restaurants, shoppes, and novelty vendors. But by night, the markets are lit with atmospheric fluorescents, neon signs, and light pollution from the city. Join me as we night crawl the neighborhood with our cameras.

Ghost Effect Photography Meetup - Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh - 6pm - 2 hours
During this photo meetup, we will explore the experimental technique of in-camera ghosting. Many can incorporate a transparent figure via post-production, but here will we learn how to capture this effect with speed lights and long exposures. And what better day to crate ghosts in their images than on Halloween? The takeaways in this meetup are understanding external flashes and shutter speeds. It is true experimental photographic techniques. Shooting in a cemetery is a somewhat sensitive location, so respect for the dead is imperative. When photographing grave stones, you MUST remove the names from them in post-production. If you do not possess the knowledge to do so, then you need to shoot near unmarked graves, near a statue, or mausoleum with no names attached. This cemetery is chalked full of accommodating locales- and similarly, we will be out of the property by dusk when the cemetery closes. This is an advanced topic, so a solid understanding of photography and the exposure triangle is paramount.
